US ELECTION: There Will Be Smooth Transition To Trump’s Second Term – Pompeo US Secretary of State

Image
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Tuesday promised the world a “smooth transition” after US elections but refused to recognize President-elect Joe Biden’s victory, saying Donald Trump will remain in power. “There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration,” Pompeo said in an at times testy news conference when asked about contacts with the Biden team. “The world should have every confidence that the transition necessary to make sure that the State Department is functional today… with the president who is in office on January 20 a minute after noon will be successful,” he said, referring to the date of the presidential inauguration. World leaders including almost all US allies have congratulated Biden, who has achieved unassailable leads in key states as well as a commanding edge in the nationwide popular vote. But Trump has refused to concede the November 3 election and has alleged massive frau...

The United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed, has tasked women to take over leadership from the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), in 2023. Mohammed, who is leading a delegation of UN senior officials on a visit to Nigeria, stated this on Tuesday while speaking on a television programme in Abuja, the nation’s capital. Speaking on Tuesday, Mohammed said all Nigerians must come together to rebuild the country, regardless of ethnic or political affiliations. “We need to recognise what is not right, work towards making it happen and know that we can do this together; individually and collectively we have responsibilities,” she said, adding that there was the need to respect each part of this country as “we all have something of value to offer”. Mohammed noted that Nigeria can provide the kind of leadership that Africa wants by working towards achieving the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. When asked whether she would like a woman to succeed Buhari ...

Joe Biden represents evil, says Femi Fani-Kayode- Central Reports

Image
Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, has reacted to the emergence of Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States of America. Fani-Kayode, one of the staunch supporters of Donald Trump in Nigeria, expressed optimism in a post shared on Sunday morning that Joe Biden’s victory will be dashed and his celebration will be short-lived. Fani-Kayode had earlier tweeted that Biden should not celebrate early, because, “Even Satan thought he won… until 3 days later.” “Meaning Jesus resurrected after three days after he was crucified. It does NOT mean something will happen to Biden after 3 days. Sometimes I wonder how dumb some people can be.The point is as follows: even though u have already buried Trump by Jan. 20th we shall see who is sworn in. FFK in the article titled “Before You Pop The Champagne”, said he despises Biden because he stands for all evil things such as abortion and same-sex marriages. “The blue wave has reached its peak. The red shall rise & overwhelm i...

US Election: No winner yet, says Chinese Government

Image
China declined Monday to congratulate Joe Biden as the winner of the US presidential election, saying the outcome of the vote was still to be determined. While incumbent Donald Trump has yet to concede and has launched several legal challenges, many world leaders congratulated Biden and running mate Kamala Harris after the Democrats were declared winners at the weekend and spontaneous celebrations erupted across American cities. Trump’s four years in the White House have been marked by a costly trade war and increasingly icy relations with China, with the two powers sparring over areas from blame for the Covid-19 pandemic to Beijing’s human rights record in Xinjiang and Hong Kong. China — among a handful of major countries including Russia and Mexico that has not congratulated the President-Elect — said Monday it had “noticed that Mr Biden declared he is the winner of the election.” “Our understanding is that the outcome of the election will be determined in accordance with US law...

Melania told an audience at the White House that she would not attack “the other side’’. In attendance were the President, Vice President, Mike Pence, and other senior administration officials. Melania described the American leader as an honest person, who says it as it is. “Almost four years ago, we went into Election Day completely underestimated. Despite what is being said again this year, I know just as you do that Americans will go to the polls, and will elect Trump on behalf of their families, our economy, our national security and our children’s future.” The First Lady also commented on the nationwide protests over racial injustice and...
