Pandemonium In Lagos As Task Force Official Kill Commercial Bus Driver, Conductor The incident followed the killings of a commercial bus driver and conductor by task force officials for yet to be ascertained reasons. For more than two hours, there were tense scenes in the Abule Egba area of Lagos State after members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers clashed with officials of Lagos State Task Force. Many people sustained severe wounds during the fracas, which escalated to the Alakuko area of the city. Vehicles including police vans were also destroyed during the crisis.

Bakassi youths numbering about 300 on Friday stormed Calabar to protest the killing of their colleague, Archibong Effiong-Archibong, who was allegedly shot dead by a personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). It took the presence of the Nigerian Army and the State Security Adviser, South, Mr Ani Esin to quell the situation at the University of Calabar main gate. An eye witness, Mr Kingsley Essien, told Newsmen in Calabar that the incident happened at Ekprikang community in Bakassi. Essien said that Effiong-Archibong was shot death by NSCDC personnel while they were trying to struggle over a gallon of fuel. Mob Lynch man for robbing pregnant woman. A young man in his early 20s was on Sunday beaten to death by a mob in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital. It was gathered that the mob killed the suspect after he allegedly robbed a pregnant woman of her phone and other valuables on Saturday night. A source who is a member of a vigilante group said that the angry youths tortured the suspect to death. It also said that some residents in the area started fleeing to avoid reprisal because the suspect belonged to a cult group. “The young man that was killed was a member of Deygbam cult group. He robbed a pregnant woman of her phone on Saturday around 6pm and other boys in the area, who were not happy with what he did, held him and started drilling (beating) him to teach him a lesson.
