WE DESERVE BETTER REPRESENTATION: THE CALL FOR A NEW DIRECTION IN OBUBRA/ETUNG

Image
In recent times, conversations across Obubra and Etung Local Government Areas have increasingly centered on one key issue—the need for more effective, people-focused representation that reflects the true aspirations of the grassroots. Among the voices shaping this renewed conversation is Prince Emmanuel Awubi, whose message resonates strongly with many community members who feel that the time has come for a more responsive and development-driven approach to leadership. For many residents across the two LGAs, there remains a lingering feeling of being unheard, unseen, and underserved. These concerns are not abstract—they reflect everyday realities: Poor and neglected rural roads Limited opportunities for farmers and traders Youth unemployment and rising frustration Communities struggling with basic infrastructure These challenges have fueled a deeper demand for leadership that is not distant, but present, engaged, and accountable. Prince Emmanuel Awubi has continued to empha...

Strengthening Grassroots Representation in Cross River State

Image
Effective governance begins at the grassroots. It is at this level that policies meet the people, and where true representation must be felt, not just promised. Recent developments surrounding the release of Ward and LGA Chapter Stakeholders’ Lists in Cross River State have brought an important issue to light—one that speaks directly to the heart of inclusive governance. Across the state, Ward Development Officers who also serve as Special Assistants have played a critical role in grassroots engagement. These individuals are not distant actors; they are embedded within communities, working closely with citizens to mobilize support, communicate government initiatives, and drive development efforts where they matter most. However, their omission from the official stakeholders’ lists has raised concerns about representation and inclusiveness. This is not merely an administrative oversight, it touches on the broader principle of ensuring that every key contributor to grassroots...

The Populace Willing To Follow Their Leader Even Blindly On Any Circumference

Image
Hon. Chief. (Dr). Douglas Ogar & Myself’. Hon. Chief. (Dr). Douglas Ogar is one-man that embodies compassion, empathy, resilience and selfishness.   He is one leader whose vision and mission validates the yearnings of the general masses. In that regard and singular purpose, the people cutting across the entire political wards of Boki in particular, the Ikom in extension and Cross River in general are willing to go into war with him blindfolded knowing he’s one who remembers his base and support system.   He rewards loyalty and dedication and vigor. He stands as a Prince who seeks to reclaim the lost glory of his ancestral empire and he is led by his convictions to succeed.  Let it be on record that, Chief. Douglas Ogar the Leader of the foremost “ Wan Osowo Movement ” is a prototype of a modern perfect servant-leader , a people’s-person and an intellectual activist whose activism stems from his belief to bring governance nearer, closer and more equit...

Oden Ewa’s 600 Million Naira Education and Entrepreneurship Empowerment Grant -The Tension It Is Causing.

Image
Hon. Oden Ewa.  Since the commencement of the Central Youths Connect, organized by Oden Ewa, Cross River State’s Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, some people have lost sleep over the widespread popularity, acceptance, and skyrocketing support base the young man has gathered among the youth population. They have become unsolicited publicists, helping to spread his fame, albeit through futile attempts to discredit a humongous, life-changing opportunity such as this grant.  These individuals are praise singers of someone whose representation is characterized by gross incompetence, ineptitude, and absenteeism, someone who acts only when threatened by another’s actions, rather than the motivation of service. A Senator who interfaces with constituents by proxy (third parties). For the record, Oden Ewa clearly announced the empowerment plan, which follows a process of data collection and screening upon submission of forms already distributed to designate...
