Cross River State Water Board limited takes delivery of treatment materials



The Special Adviser on Water Board, Chief Victor Ekpo, has taken  possession of some  treatment materials given by his Excellency, Senator (Professor) Ben Ayade, for production of water to Cross riverians during this Pandemic.


Chief Ekpo hailed Professor Ben Ayade for making it possible for the materials to gets into Calabar despite the current situation affecting the Nation.

The Special Adviser stated that water is life and in the midst of the pandemic, Cross Riverians needed water, not just any how water but well treated water for survival.


Speaking on the Pandemic, he disclosed that the governor has instructed Cross River state Water Board  to give out free water for the month of April in order to help Cross Riverians through this period.


Chief Ekpo further stated that water bills for the month of April will not be issued out.

He appealed to members of the public not to tamper with water board properties.

His words " No one should start destroying our pipes because you want to steal water, you want to bypass the meters. We have a task force on ground that will go around monitoring and any one found doing any illegal activities must face the law.


On Production of water, Chief Ekpo disclosed that the Cross River state water board uses 42 bags of Alum, 12 drums of Chlorine and 20 bags of lime to produce water, in total cost  "

"Water board spends not less than N620,000 for  Chemicals alone, to produce water in a day, we aren't including cost of power, So I encourage and also appeal to members of the Public to value the efforts of His Excellency, Senator Professor Ben Ayade  to ensure Cross Riverians have portable drinking water  and also Cooperate with Water Board to help us serve you better" he also stated
