Eid-el-Fitr: Ochicha Congratulates Muslims, urges prayers for Nigeria, sues for peace.
Mr. Odey Ochicha, the chairman, Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji, Ondo State congratulates Muslims on the occasion of Eid el Fitr and admonished Muslims to pray continually for Nigeria and her people especially at this period the world over is ravaged by the deadly Coronavirus pandemic otherwise called Covid-19.
The Chairman urges the Muslims to use the period to pray to Almighty Allah to bring an end to the coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria and the whole world.
The leading aspirant who seeks to give the people of Cross River North in the Senate, quality representation, effective oversight and people-oriented laws, in a message by his Media Assistant, Paschal Nyiam, has implored Muslims to use the period of Eid-el-Fitr to "heal our communities."
He called on Muslims to share the joy of the celebration with fellow citizens and the less privileged in society.
"This is one Sallah celebration that calls for deep reflection. We live in uncertain times. We are confronted by unimaginable health and economic challenges. COVID-19 is ravaging the world, Nigeria inclusive. Economies of different nations have gone into recession.
"In Nigeria, the federal government has been working assiduously to checkmate the rampaging COVID-19 and stabilize the economy. The government is showing strength in a time of adversity. Overcoming the challenge posed by COVID-19 must be a collective effort. Let's support governments at all levels in the fight against the unseen but deadly enemy," he said.
He further said: "I urge our leaders at the grassroots level to initiate genuine dialogue in our troubled communities and especially our dear party, APC Cross River State in order to champion a new cause for the good of the people. The dialogue must be inclusive and aimed at rebuilding confidence and trust. It must be approached gradually, adding that if properly handled and pursued with fairness, peace will return to our devastated communities and our dear party, APC Cross River State. Ochicha made it clear that peace is priceless and should be pursued at all times.
May the Almighty Allah accept all our supplications and heal our communities and the world, Amen!. May we be at our compassionate best throughout this year and beyond as we observe this year’s Eid-El-Fitr at home. Let us give charity to the needy and be at peace with our neighbours."
