Again, CRS Anti-Tax Agency Light Beam On Illicit Tax Operators, Nabs 100 Marian Boys and Others
Earlier today, The Cross River State Anti Tax Agency has arrested illicit ticket sellers unveiled as the, "100 Marian boys" at different routes in Calabar for illicit activities on selling of tickets to tricycle and taxis operators against the state government policy.
Recall that, the Digital Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Benedict Bengioushuye Ayade went on to inaugurate an anti-tax agency designed to abolish payment of taxes by low-income earners. The move was part of the state’s post COVID-19 palliative measures.
The tax exemption is aimed at encouraging small and medium scale businesses, peasant farmers, commercial transport operators, food vendors, hotels with less than 50 rooms, and all those struggling to earn a living in order to expand and create a livelihood for their families.
The Executive Chairman, Cross River State Anti Tax Agency, Bishop (Dr) Emmah Isong has disclosed that four “special” courts have been established to prosecute illegal tax collectors at all levels no matter their profile or status across the State.
