PLEASE BEAR WITH ME!!


If I have failed to live up to your expectations,

If I have failed to swim according to the tide, 

If I have failed to wear a goldplated wristwatch,

If I have failed to adorn my feet with a Gucci Shoe and my body with the costliest Versace Shirt.

Forgive me, if I don't know how to operate an iPhone nor know the cost of one in the market.

Forgive me, if my pictures on social media look ugly and blur because I snapped with an obsolete version of Tecno phone.

Please, Bear With Me if I don't appear Fresh on my Timeline.


The truth is,

I love good life just like you love it too,

I love splendour, fun and conviviality too.

But Please Bear with me for not living up to this expectations.

Because, as much as I love to merry too, I have chosen to stay true to myself and conscience.

Please bear with me for unlike you, I was born without a silver nor diamond spoon.

The burden of obscurity and abject poverty has ingrained in me a different perception.

Forgive me, if I fail to be your "Fresh geng dude"

Because, I have a poor mother, poor father and siblings waiting and praying for me to remain focus and lift them out of obscurity.

I have a generation whose hope for a better tomorrow rest squarely on my shoulders,

This generation, I cannot afford to fail.

I have a future, I have a people awaiting my manifestation.

So dear Society, when you don't see me "baffing up" just remember that I have chosen REALITY over MIRAGE.
