MY LOYALTY AND SUPPORT IS FOR AYADE COME 2023

The Special Asssistant to the Governor on Security, Yakurr, Mr Cyril Omini says the decision to dump the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) by the Governor remains one of the best decision the governor has taken in the life of his administration.

Mr Omini who stated this in Calabar during a chat with reporters said the governor’s decision is one of the smartest/genuine move to be undertaken by any State Governor in recent times.

According to him, a state that is at the bottom in terms of Federal allocation cannot continue to be in the opposition to the detriment of the people.

“See guys, lets tell ourselves the truth. Anybody who thinks well of Governor Ayade and desires the success of his administration would not afford to query or pick holes with his decision to defect to the APC. For the Governor to achieve his lofty vision for the State, he needs the support of the centre”.

On the claim by members of the opposition that the governor’s decision was for personal aggrandisement and not for the interest of Cross Riverians, Mr Omini said,

” It is quite unfortunate that members of the opposition have continously decided not to see anything good in Governor Ayade and his administration. Is it only Governor Ayade that will benefit from the Super Highway, Bakassi deep Seaport, Obudu Cargo Airport etc when completed? When the governor said, he was socketing to the Centre, it was to enable him ensure the completion of his administrations programmes and projects.

On the impact of the Governor’s defection on the politics of the State, he said one thing the move has done is that, it has opened up the political space for everybody to ventilate.

“Whether anybody likes it or not, the whole political arrangement and configuration ahead of 2023 has been unsettled by the Governor’s singular move. What it has done especially for us young people is that, it has opened the political space for us to take equal and active part.

The Security aide to the governor declared his unalloyed support and loyalty to the Governor and his succession plan declaring that, he is going to support whoever the Governor decides to support as his successor irrespective of where the person comes from.

” My loyalty and support is for Ayade come 2023 and beyond. After God, i owe everything i am today to the Governor. He picked from nowhere and gave me a name. How else do i repay him if not through supporting him? Those who know me knows i dont pretend and i dont do eye service. I am for Ayade till tomorrow and for me it is the best thing to do” He concluded.
