PRESS RELEASE The newly elected executive committee of the National Youth Council of Nigeria,Boki Chapter today,12th May,2022 held her second meeting in Wula,Boki LGA. The meeting which was well attended by ward Coordinators and Secretaries was aimed at discussing modalities towards the central inauguration of all LGA Chapters in Calabar immediately after primary elections. During the meeting, members present moved votes of confidence on the Comr.Dan Obo led State exco of the organization for their forthrightness in the discharge of their duties and also the Sen.Prof.Ben Ayade Leadership of Cross River State for the youth inclusiveness in governance, industrialization and human capital development. Other resolutions reached at the end of the over four hours meeting include: 1.The Boki youths reposed a very high confidence level on all the Boki sons and daughters aspiring for different positions in the forth coming elections, irrespective of party lines, saying that all of them possess the requisite qualifications to contest for any position and went further to advise the youths to be focused, not to allow themselves to be used by any politician to course trouble or fight with each other. 2.The youths under the leadership of the very able Comr.Douglas Ekiewa used the opportunity to commend the immediate past members of the State Executive Council from Boki, Rt.Hon.Dr.Jacob Otu Enyia and Hon.Engr.Dane Osim Asu for working assiduously with H.E,the digital Governor in executing major projects in the State such as the establishment of the State owned airline (Cally air)/construction of the passenger and Cargo airport in Obudu and the construction of major roads in the State, especially, the Boki East-west road which is about 80% completed, respectively.Also worthy of encomiums is the distinquished former Secretary to the State Government for standing out while serving in a Government that engaged so many youths on appointments and for writing her name on the sands of time as the first female SSG in the State. The Paramount ruler of Boki politics, the immediate past Chairman of Boki LGC and a leading Senatorial aspirant for CR central under the platform of the APC,Hon.Abubakar Ewa was also commended for initiating the Irruan-Eastern Boki road during his time as Council Chairman, though not completed but has has been taken over by the present administration led by Pastor John Ewa. After the meeting, the exco led by Comr.Douglas Ekiewa paid a courtesy call on the Paramount ruler of Boki to say a very big thank you to him for his contribution and support to the administration of the Local Government in curbing insecurity and other social vices within the LGA. In his response,the Paramount ruler thank the leadership of Boki youths for their thoughtfulness and show of respect to constituted authorities, assuring them of his continuous support throughout the life of their administration.
