 WHY THE CENTRAL AND NORTH MUST WORK TOGETHER !

It has become obvious, even imperative, isn't it, that the people of Central and Northern senatorial zones of our dear state should work together if they must remain relevant in the politics of Cross River State. Since the greatest weapon of annihilation of a race or a people is ignorance there is an urgent need for the two zones to realise their historical and cultural affinity and their shared experiences in the defunct Eastern region and the South Eastern state. There is no doubt in my mind that this same cultural and linguistic affinity between the Efiks and the Ibibios has helped to estrange the Efiks from their Central and Northern brothers and sisters with whom they cannot feel any spiritual bond at all. And this unfortunate phenomenon is not about to abate anytime soon, no matter how much the politicians pretend on their way to the dinning table. Central and Northern zones must come together and form an impregnable block with a voice, a vote and a way. Most of the Southern zone, in any case, has been groaning under the oppression of the minority and may just need our united force for their eventual delivery. What our people need is equal respect no more, no less.
