How do we find her when she does not care about your business but how many times you call her a day and how fast you respond to her chats? We find the beautiful ones — they care more about the latest dress and hairstyle in town. They want you to be an Indian actor or have six-packs like a romantic guy in a Korean movie. She’s a queen and can never be wrong. She lives in the movie world but you want a woman who’s awake to reality. We find the not-so-beautiful ones — they have given their lives to their church. Tuesdays are for Bible class. Wednesday's are for House fellowships. Thursdays are for prayer meetings. Friday's are for night vigil. Saturday’s are for choir practice. On Sundays, they go to church in the morning and come back at night and nag you to death when you complain. When you talk to them about your challenges in business, they attribute it to witches and wizards and start seven days of fasting. If you are not as religious as they are, you are antichrist and a suspect. It's God, her pastor, and then, distant you. People like me may end up not getting married. We want those we can have intelligent conversations with and they will not feel bored. We want those who are open-minded, not those who have boxed their minds and must do things the way she has seen others do. We want those who will sit down and reason with us when we ask difficult questions and not ask us to leave it for God to judge. We want ambitious women, not those who see impossibility in everything they should learn. We want peace. We want a woman who understands the power and dignity of being a woman – not those who want to become men and becomes bitter when they fail. We want elegance, eloquence, intelligence, friendship, a builder, A WOMAN! I want all of those in one person. Many women wants the same thing in a man too. So, when we meet, everyone wants someone else. Is it wrong to have a specification? I don’t think so. Is it possible to find? I think it is. Until then, nsogbu di!
