Hon. Patrick Egbede Applauds Empowerment Drive at Bekwarra Young Entrepreneurs Forum Training Center, Commends SAAOF’s Commitment to Inclusive Skills Development.
The Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Cross River State, Hon. Patrick Egbede, on Friday joined his colleague, Dr. Michael Odere, Honourable Commissioner for Finance, along with the Chairman of Ogoja LGA and other dignitaries, on an official visit to the Bekwarra Young Entrepreneurs Forum Training Center, Ayage, Bekwarra LGA, venue of the ongoing Intensive Entrepreneurial and Skills Empowerment Training organized by the Sir Augustine Agbor Odere Foundation (SAAOF).
The training, which focuses on professional shoemaking, aims to equip at least 40 participants from the 10 wards of Bekwarra LGA, including persons with disabilities with hands-on, marketable skills that will contribute meaningfully to wealth creation and self-reliance.
Beyond training, participants will receive relevant tools and starter kits to support continuity and replication of the initiative in their respective communities, thereby fostering a cycle of empowerment and skills transfer.
Hon. Egbede reaffirmed the Ministry’s readiness to collaborate with initiatives and organizations that align with the state's economic development goals, and assured that efforts are ongoing to scale similar programs across other LGAs of Cross River State.
