Other dignitaries in the funeral were, the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey PhD, High Chief Peter Higgins. Others are the All Progressive Congress (APC) State chairman Barr. Alphonsus Eba, the member representing Obudu/ Bekwarra/ Obanliku Federal Constituency, Hon. Peter Akpanke, former chief of staff, Chief Martins Orim and host of dignitaries and state officials. Hon. The Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Cross River State, Hon. Patrick Egbede, on Friday joined his colleague, Dr. Michael Odere, Honourable Commissioner for Finance, along with the Chairman of Ogoja LGA and other dignitaries, on an official visit to the Bekwarra Young Entrepreneurs Forum Training Center, Ayage, Bekwarra LGA, venue of the ongoing Intensive Entrepreneurial and Skills Empowerment Training organized by the Sir Augustine Agbor Odere Foundation (SAAOF). The training, which focuses on professional shoemaking, aims to equip at least 40 participants from the 10 wards of Bekwarra LGA, including persons with disabilities with hands-on, marketable skills that will contribute meaningfully to wealth creation and self-reliance. The Honourable Commissioner for Information, Erasmus Ekpang (PhD), has on Saturday, 28th June gone on a tour of visit to assess the security situation and damages on the Boje and Isobendeghe communities respectively. Hon. Erasmus who confessed to be very disturbed and concerned by the recent incident of attacks and killings among the both sides, began by visiting the Commanding Officer of Edor barracks, Ikom, who received him warmly and gave him an insight on the situation on ground. The Commissioner who doubles as the State Government’s representative assured that by the month of July, the boundary adjustment committee led by the State Surveyor General will bring out reports about the area contention and the land will be demarcated with a buffer zone carved out in the area to ensure sustainable and lasting peace and stability.
