For The Love Of Womanhood!

Image
Woman, taken out of man. She's strong, brave, and courageous. I don't really know how best to describe the strength of a mother, especially towards the protection and caring for her child. In all circumstances, MAMA na MAMA! Every other person can reject you, but never your mother. Though, I lost mine 16 years ago, but will never stop missing her. Why should we raise our hands on a woman, when we can't even dare raise them in class or public gatherings? Let's always respect and love our women, because no matter how small a girl is, she's capable of taking care of ten thousand men. Stop beating them, stop assaulting, and valuating their innocent. Lets cherish, love, and respect them please! Photo Credit: Chika Onuu

COVID-19: Cross Riverians Take Responsibility! Protect yourself To compliment Government efforts!

Image
The COVID-19 Taskforce in Cross River State wishes to draw the attention of the public to the risk of abandoning safety measures put in place to safeguard their lives against the CORONA Virus. Nigeria is at the peak of the pandemic with the country recording over 700 cases in a day. This is not the time to relax and lose guard. It’s not the time to gamble with your life. If you are waiting for the task force to push or force you to use your  face mask, face shield, avoid public gatherings, wash your hand and use hand sanitizers often; then you are putting your own life at risk. Sometimes we see people in joints hanging out with friends, attending burials, weddings, parties, going to places of worship where safety is ignored on the grounds of religion, moving on the streets without nose mask or observing the right measures to keep safe. When asked the say “there is no Corona Virus in Cross River” so we don’t need to observe any of the safety measures. This is a wrong mindset ...

Unical VCship: The time for Professor Florence Banku Obi is now

Image
Since the advent of university education in the country, only a handful of females have become vice chancellors. For the University of Calabar, the time for Professor florence Banku Obi is now. Does the notion, “what a man can do, a woman can do better,” apply only in the area of trade, craft and maybe other business transactions, but not leadership positions? It seems so. For not even in academia where many of the philosophies and views about bridging gender gaps emanate from does the notion apply. Ever since the advent of university education in Nigeria, the system cannot boast of producing up to 15 substantive female vice chancellors, either from the public, faith-based or private institutions. Teaching and learning industry is generally perceived as female-dominated field, but this trend changes within the career trajectories of women as their representation begins to decline in a higher academic environment, and more so at senior management level. Could this be as a result...

PROF NDEM AYARA NDIYO THE MAN WHO THE CAP FITS:By Dominic kidzu

Image
By Dominic kidzu  Being a proud alumnus of the University of Calabar, in the ELS graduating class of 1988, I have taken more than a passing interest in the affairs of my alma mata, and along with my classmates around the world returned to the ELS Department in 2018 in a Homecoming in which we donated computers and accessories, held an interactive session with students and faculty officials and a Thanksgiving Mass to mark our 30 years of graduation from the famous institution. We also instituted an award for the Best Graduating Student of  the Department which started running last year. I am proud to say that in spite of the burgeoning multitudes and expanding challenges, Unical still holds the promise to students who genuinely wish to obtain knowledge and the lecturers  have also braved the odds to deliver quality education to serious students in spite of all the challenges. A Malabite such as I am will always have the most excellent intentions and best wishes for t...

Don't even tell me a southerner  Ajimobi has been appointed is inconsequential to me as a south south man. When Obaseki was disqualified from contesting APC primaries for his reelection as Edo Governor many celebrated, concluded that Oshiomohle has won, here is Oshiomohle's fate. I refused to believe anyone has won until after the election and probably supreme Court judgement. Oshiomohle visited Tinubu a Yoruba m...

Retraction And Apology For False and malicious Publication

Image
Retraction And Apology For False and malicious Publication It has come to my attention that a piece of write-up that was published in my blog on the 16/05/2020 is flagged as problematic, defamatory and capable of assassinating one's character and hard-earned reputation. The published piece indeed contains large portions of wordings copied from 08139313871- bearer,Bekom Carison Evans on that same day of Saturday 16/05/2020 forwarded to a WhatsApp group we share membership "Central Reports Dailies". The publication was not made with any malicious intent to lie or defame the character of Arch. Ndem Bassey nor jettison his governorship ambitions to govern our dear State, Cross River, but the error was the unfortunate and unprofessional giving of publishing such piece without verifying the right source and it's authenticity. At the time, i was an inexperienced blogger, not aware of that what i did was against the ethics and standards of blogging, journalism, scien...
