Group appeals to President-elect to consider loyalty, competence in forming cabinet while considering Hon. Cletus OBUN of Cross River. The Leaders Fold (TLF), an APC support group, has appealed to Senator Bola Tinubu, the President-elect, to consider loyalty, commitment and competence in selecting members of his cabinet. Paschal Obi, the group’s leader, made the appeal while addressing a host of members of the group and media men. He noted that, honourable Cletus Obun is a great Nigerian with brains, making waves in different fields, who's willing to contribute to country's development, if given the opportunity. He, therefore, admonished and advised that loyal and dedicated party members should be considered in every political appointment because they had worked for the party and the country generally citing Hon Cletus Obun's commitment as sacrificial that requires rewards. Paschal said this was critical, to ensure that Tinubu’s promise of upholding the party’s reward system during the campaigns was kept. He added that now that the election was over, the president-elect should begin shopping for those that would work with him as ministers and other cabinet members to enable him to hit the ground running after his inauguration on May 29. Paschal Obi, however, noted that having Hon Obun, who served diligently in the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) as the country’s next minister of information , would not be out of place but one of the best decisions so far. He said this was especially because Obun had paid his dues as a loyal and dedicated party man in the APC, in Nigeria. He described Obun as an experienced diplomat and administrator of resources with experience in varying fields spanning management roles in Hewlett Packard, JP Morgan Investment Bank, and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) among others. Having Hon Cletus M. Obun as the country’s next designated Minister will be having a round peg in a round hole. He is professionally and educationally qualified with a distinctions, Masters degrees in Public Administration and English and Literary Studies Obun is a community youth activist, students union activist, journalist ( Senior Editor ,) academic, parliamentarian , political and public affairs analyst with local and international radio ( VOA, BBC , Dw, Hit FM, FRCN, Armed Forces radio, Kiss FM , Prestige FM etc) and television ( Channels, AIT, NTA, Arise, TVC etc) engagements . He is a visionary and goal-oriented techie-savvy and a compassionate servant-leader with demonstrable experience in planning, diplomacy, developing and implementing cutting-edge bespoke initiatives to address governmental and leadership plethora's,” Paschal said.
